Peru with Mary Durran

Mary Durran recently returned from visiting projects and partners in Peru. She will share insights from her trip and her long-standing work in the region. This comes at a meaningful time, as we prepare to welcome Bishop Jorge Izaguirre from Peru—our Development and Peace Solidarity Visitor to the Alberta/NWT region—from Mar 27 to Apr 7 (stay tuned for details). Bishop Izaguirre is the outgoing president of CEAS, a partner organization of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference that advocates for human rights, guided by the Gospel and Catholic social teaching.

Mary Durran is a research and advocacy officer with Development and Peace. She has extensive experience in Central America, focusing on human rights and social issues. Since 2012, she has overseen programs in Haiti, Honduras, and Peru.
